Polyethylene is the heavy-duty option in the plastic family. Its excellent UV inhibitors prevent yellowing and brittleness from sun exposure, making it ideal for exterior applications like security signs, warning signs, and outdoor traffic control panels. Polyethylene is virtually unbreakable under normal use, accepts full-color digital printing cleanly, and can be digitally die cut to virtually any shape. We stock .035 and .055 thicknesses to give you flexibility across light and heavy-duty applications.
Polystyrene is the indoor specialist. Its bright white surface transmits colors beautifully, making it a top choice for retail POP displays, event graphics, and interior signage where visual impact matters most. Styrene is not recommended for outdoor use — UV exposure causes yellowing and brittleness over time — but for interior environments it is cost-effective and easy to work with. We stock polystyrene in .020, .030, .040, and .060 thicknesses, and it can be digitally die cut to virtually any shape.
PVC (Sintra/Polyvinyl Chloride) occupies the premium indoor niche. Its smooth, dense surface is excellent for high-resolution printing and gives a refined look to framed displays, dimensional layering, and POP signage. Stock PVC thickness is 3mm. PVC carries a medium-light durability rating due to its soft texture — it marks and dents more easily than polyethylene — so it is best reserved for protected indoor environments. Like the other plastic substrates, PVC can be digitally die cut and drilled for easy mounting and display.
